Marva was born in Eugene, Oregon. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Technical Communications. She spent the next umpteen years working as a technical writer and programmer/analyst. In 2005, she gave up all that glamour for the solitary life of a fiction writer.
She has a dear husband, Jack, who supports her attempt at this new career. Two sons have wandered off to other parts of the country; one in Seattle and the other in Florida. Fortunately, neither one shows any sign of boomeranging back home again.
She has dabbled in a variety of genres looking for the best fit. Since she has published fantasy, science fiction, romance, literary, childrens’, and historical, she’ll keep dabbling.
In the fantasy realm, she has a series of chapbooks being published by Sam's Dot Publishing. The first of the Cadida's Adventures, "Cadida and the Djinn," was released in December 2006. The second chapbook, "Cadida and the Cave Demon," came out in June 2007. In January 2009, all seven of the Cadida tales were published together in one volume titled "The Seven Adventures of Cadida." In 2008, her science fiction novella, "First Duty," was published. Both by Sam's Dot Publishing.
Her big project was putting together twenty-some stories based on her father's boyhood growing up in West Texas. "Tales of a Texas Boy," is now available in a variety of editions, including two Large Print books, at Amazon and Barnes&Nobel.
Most recently, "Quest for the Simurgh" is now available in trade paperback, large print, and ebook formats.
